We have four (4) dogs, two long hair and two short hair. Without Paco, it is impossible to keep up with the hair and dirt they bring in. By running Paco every other day, we manage to keep the hair to a minimum, even under the beds where cleaning is nearly impossible. Cleaning Paco up is easy if you have the right tools. My problems with the Roomba (my third one) is that it is impossible to get a person on the phone or on line. Emails to iRobot are generally answered within 30-45 days which is also a problem. They send extra brushes, sweeps, etc., with the robot which helps but I keep an old comb, a small screwdriver, a hemostat, and an old toothbrush to clean Paco. It sucked this up easily, but we had to go at the edge with the side of the vacuum. For large particles we used oatmeal. The Dyson DC33 Multi Floor cleaned these up right away. As you can see, this was cleaned with ease. It doesn't do as good of a job with pet hair. Some pet hair was pushed around and matted into the carpet after one pass, but was sucked up eventually. The Dyson DC33 vacuum did a great job on the hardwood floor cleaning up the small particles. Make sure to turn off the brush bar for hard floors. We once again used oatmeal for the large particle test, and this was sucked up right away as well. It is pretty simple to access the on board tools. You simply pull out and up on the wand to extend it. Then you detach the wand from the main unit to use. Attach the on board tool of your choice for cleaning any surface. You can use this wand for cleaning stairs. You can also detach the wand and just use the hose if you prefer. The noise level for this vacuum was about average at just under 80 decibels. The suction power was incredible at over 100 inches of water. The filtration system is top of the line emitting zero dust particles in the air. Sanitaire 677 D vacuum

Ok so I feel kinda hypocritical by having this machine. I vowed never to own another Sanitaire after I got rid of my Widetrack model with F&G bag that my grandparents bought me. I always wanted one because I saw them used commercially everywhere and liked the sound. But as I got older I realized that it did not really do that good of a job at deep cleaning as I thought. So after seeing many videos one here I went to the vac shop and said I want the best model with the new style bag. When I got it I asked for another set of brushes to replace the beaters for pet hair. I tried with the beater brush combo and it did not do well with the pet hair at all. When I added the extra brushes pet hair pick up pick up increased alot. Even without the beaters it still beats the carpet like it has them but I still find sand at the bottom of the pile that only my Simplicty Freedom can get on a side note this machine can be thrown off the Grand Canyon and survive whereas the Simplicty could not survive falling down a flight of stairs. I guess I have a diverse collection of vacuums. But oh well enjoy.

This is my new Dyson DC05 Motorhead. This was Dyson's first power nozzle canister, launched in 1999. Very compact and lightweight! The hose and Motorhead shown in this video were brand-new. The Motorhead only arrived this morning, and neither had touched carpet until I made this video. The cleaner has three settings: one turns on the suction motor only, for cleaning hard floors and delicate carpets. One turns on the suction motor and the Motorhead. The last turns on the Motorhead only, at half-speed, for efficient distribution of Dyson's 'Zorb' dry-cleaning powder. As you can hear from the video the DC05 is very quiet, as is the Motorhead itself. It has a lot of power, and the Motorhead, although not terribly aggressive, does a very good job of picking up dust, dirt, pet hair etc. It grooms the carpet well, and brings up the pile. The clear bin was quite full, despite the fact that I'd vacuumed the house on two days previously.
